The Ministry of Higher Education, Research, Science and Technology held a two days training workshop, for the first batch on The ministry’s Online Database Management System from 29th – 30th November for 18 (Eighteen) institutions including NAQAA (National Accreditation and Quality Assurance Authority). The system is designed to help the ministry and its stakeholders in the collection and analysis of institutional data for all the higher education, tertiary and non-tertiary institutions within the country.
The development of this automated system will minimize the use of paper for data collection and also ensure that there is:
- Fast
- Reliable
- Timely availability of Data.
The participants were introduced to the cleaning data, importing and exporting data and also data analysis. The Director of Planning and Budget expressed the need for data and its importance in the decision-making process. He also urges all the institutions present to make good use of the system as it will help both their institutions and the ministry
