MoHERST holds 3-day workshop on the development of a National Strategy for the Digitalization of TVET

DTT

It could be recalled that the Ministry of Higher Education, Research, Science and Technology in collaboration with national and international partners, organized a day’s High-level launching workshop for the development of a national Strategy for the digitalization of TVET in The Gambia on July 22nd, 2022. The Project is funded by UNESCO through the Pan African Initiative for Digital Transformation of TVET and Skills Development Systems in Africa and is being implemented by MoHERST.

Following the High-level launching, the Ministry organized the 1st Technical workshop to discuss and review the Methodology and the results from the Situational Analysis, as well as the Work Plan for input and adoption by the National Technical Team. This allows the Consultant to finalize the Situational Analysis as well as the Methodological guidelines to further share with the team for their input and finalization to move to the next steps of the development process.

It was against this backdrop that MoHERST in collaboration with the National Technical Team (NTT) and partners organized the 2nd High-level Technical workshop to develop the first draft of the National Strategy. The 3-day convergence brought together directors, heads of institutions, and departments to discuss the UNESCO 10 Targets for the initiative and the 5 building Blocks as strategies to provide a programme overview including goals, time frame, matrix or outcome; what communication channels to use, how much funding support is needed and so on. Plenary and whole group discussions followed this. DPS Technical delivered the opening statement on behalf of PS.
