The Ministry recently held a two days training workshop, for the third batch on the Ministry’s On-line Database Management Information System from 24th– 25th January, 2019 for non-tertiary institutions and some of its staff.
During his Welcoming Remarks, the Deputy Permanent Secretary of Administration and Finance, Mr. Momodou Jang Jallow highlighted the importance of the database, its benefits, and the reason why the Ministry had to come up with such an initiative.
According to DPS Jallow, the Ministry will engage all the stakeholders, Higher Education, Tertiary Education, Non-Tertiary and Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) institutions in The Gambia to help in the entry of data at their various levels. He also talked about the use of focal persons to help strengthen communication between the Ministry and institutions.
He concluded by encouraging all the institutions and stakeholders to make good use of the system because it is in the interest of all. He assured the institutions of the Ministry’s continuous support to this endeavor as it in the overall interest of the objective of the on-line database.
