28th March, 2023 - The Hon. Minister of Higher Education, Research, Science and Technology, Prof. Pierre Gomez, accompanied by Senior Officials of MoHERST and representatives from the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat, visited North Bank Region to identify a site for the construction of an International Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Centre in the North Bank Region of The Gambia.

The delegation was welcomed by the Honourable Governor Lamin Saidy Khan, NBR and his Deputy, as well as the Alkalo and community of Kerr Mbuguma in Lower Niumi, NBR.

The team assessed and identified the site offered by the community meant for establishing the Multipurpose TVET Centre, which, once established, will curb the Rural-Urban migration in that part of the country, increase access to skills training and promote economic growth.
