The Ministry of Higher Education, Research, Science and Technology on Thursday, held a meeting with representatives from The Gambian Malaysia Student Alumni (GAMSA) Foundation, to discuss on potential partnerships between the Alumni Foundation and the Ministry.
In his remark, Momodou M. Joof, a representative from GAMSA - Foundation, who is also the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) at West Africa Takaful Insurance Company, expressed his appreciation to MoHERST for having availed him and colleagues the opportunity to benefit from a Scholarship to further his education in Malaysia. Furthermore, his counterpart Yankuba Mamburay, Project Manager at Karpowership The Gambia and member of GAMSA – Foundation, expressed similar gratitude to the Ministry.
As a result, The Gambian Malaysia Student Alumni Foundation shared their desire to partner with MoHERST in the form of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to compliment governments’ efforts in promoting Higher Education, Research, Science and Technology in the country. MoHERST welcomes the collaboration and proposed that a draft MOU be submitted by GAMSA - Foundation on or before the 6th of August 2021. The review of the MOU was suggested to be conducted on the 12th of August 2021.
