Second Batch of Trainees, Training on the MoHERST Online Database Management System for Institutions

MoHERST Database Training

The Ministry of Higher Education, Research, Science and Technology held a two days training workshop, for the second batch on the ministry’s On-line Database Management System from 13th– 14th December, 2018 for tertiary and higher education institutions and some of its staff.

During his Welcoming Remarks the Director of Planning, Budget and Policy Analysis, Mr. Touray spoke in length about the importance of the database and its benefit to the country. The development of this database is in line with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the Africa Union Agenda 2063.

According to Director Touray, the ministry is ready to work with all Higher Education, Tertiary Education and Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) institutions all over the country to make sure they are trained on it and start using it as soon as possible. He also talked about the challenges encountered by the Ministry in the past concerning data collection and entry, thus the establishment of this on-line database.

He concluded by encouraging all the institutions and stakeholders to make good use of the system because it is in the interest of all.
