The Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Higher Education, Research, Science and Technology (MoHERST), Ms. Isatou Auber, welcomed participants to the Validation Workshop on the Amendments of the Tertiary and Higher Education Act 2016.
In her remarks, she expressed appreciation to all stakeholders for their presence and continued commitment to advancing tertiary and higher education in The Gambia. She noted that the validation workshop marks an important milestone in the Ministry’s efforts to strengthen the legal and institutional framework governing the sector.
Ms. Auber emphasized the importance of stakeholder participation in ensuring that the proposed amendments are inclusive, relevant, and responsive to the evolving needs of tertiary and higher education institutions. She encouraged participants to engage actively in the discussions and contribute their expertise toward developing a robust and forward-looking legislative framework.
The Permanent Secretary reaffirmed MoHERST’s commitment to promoting quality, accountability, and excellence in higher education and wished participants fruitful deliberations throughout the workshop.
