GENERAL PROCUREMENT NOTICE
The Ministry of Higher Education, Research, Science and Technology (MoHERST), on behalf of the Government of The Gambia, has received financing of US$37.5 million from the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) toward the cost of the School of Medicine and Allied Health Sciences (SMASH). This project is also jointly financed by Child Fund and the Government of The Gambia. A portion of these funds will be applied to payments for goods, works, related services, and consulting services under this project.
Project Components
1. Expansion of health academic infrastructure (civil works)
2. Supervision of works and equipment implementation
3. Provision of medical and laboratory equipment and ICT infrastructure
4. Academic and program development / faculty development and capacity building
5. Project management, community engagement, and outreach
6. External financial audit
Procurement Categories
Works: Construction of SMASH facilities, including:
• Shared SMAHS facilities – 2,150 m²
• Department of Public & Environmental Health – 2,933 m²
• Department of Nursing – 4,552 m²
• Department of Medicine – 4,248 m²
• Department of Pharmacy – 4,248 m²
• Department of Allied Health Sciences – 3,590 m²
Goods:
• Advanced medical and laboratory equipment
• ICT infrastructure for e-learning
Consultancy Services:
• Supervision and control of works and equipment installation & commissioning
• Faculty development and training programs
• Curriculum development and program expansion
• Green telemedicine
Procurement will follow the Islamic Development Bank Guidelines:
• Goods, Works, and Related Services: Guidelines for the Procurement of Goods, Works and Related Services under IsDB Project Financing (April 2019 edition, amended)
• Consultancy Services: Guidelines for the Procurement of Consultancy Services under IsDB Project Financing (April 2019 edition, amended)
