Ms. Isatou Auber, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Higher Education, Research, Science and Technology (MOHERST), delivered the opening remarks at the THET Fund National Stakeholder Workshop. She highlighted the need to align education and training with labour market demands, noting that while thousands of young Gambians graduate annually, many encounter challenges transitioning into meaningful employment or entrepreneurship.
Ms. Auber emphasized that the THET Fund is a critical initiative to strengthen the link between education, skills development, and national productivity. The workshop provided a platform for stakeholders to collectively reflect, identify skills gaps, validate funding priorities, and forge partnerships that will ensure graduates are workforce-ready. Participants were encouraged to engage constructively, as their insights will inform the strategic direction of the Fund.
