The Ministry of Higher Education, Research, Science and Technology MoHERST, through the Tertiary and Higher Education Trust Fund (THET Fund), today officially opened the inaugural National Career Fest 2026, bringing together students, tertiary institutions, employers, entrepreneurs, policymakers and development partners to strengthen the link between education and employment.
Delivering the welcome remarks, the Permanent Secretary of MoHERST, Ms. Isatou Auber, described the Career Fest as a significant investment in the future of The Gambia’s young people. She reaffirmed the Ministry’s commitment to strengthening partnerships between education and industry to ensure graduates are equipped with the skills, knowledge and opportunities needed to succeed in the labour market.
Ms. Auber highlighted that the Career Fest reflects MoHERST’s vision of promoting innovation, entrepreneurship and graduate employability through strategic collaboration. She encouraged students to actively engage with exhibitors, employers and institutions throughout the event, noting that the opportunities and coctions made could shape their future careers.
The National Career Fest 2026 underscores MoHERST’s continued commitment, through the THET Fund, to building a skilled, competitive and future-ready workforce for national development.
