The Ministry of Higher Education, Research, Science and Technology (MOHERST), led by Honourable Professor Pierre Gomez, held a productive bilateral meeting with Team RESPECT™ during #STIWEEK2026.
Discussions focused on advancing The Gambia’s development of a comprehensive Science, Technology and Innovation (STI) Policy aligned with the African Union Development Agency–NEPAD Africa EdTech 2030 Vision & Plan. The framework will guide national efforts to strengthen digital learning, enhance teaching, and prepare students for a technology-driven future.
The engagement explored adopting continental standards and best practices while tailoring solutions to The Gambia’s unique context to expand access to quality education and foster local innovation.
MOHERST appreciates the partnership with Team RESPECT as efforts continue to translate strategic vision into actionable policy for national development.
