On Saturday, 23rd August, 2025, the Honourable Minister of Higher Education, Research, Science and Technology, Professor Pierre Gomez, accompanied by a team of technicians of the Ministry and the Vice Chancellor of The Gambia University of Applied Science and Technology (USET) has commenced a 3-day visit to regional Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) centres across The Gambia.
The primary objective of the tour was to inspect the regional TVET centres across the country in order to ascertain their level of preparedness for the next academic year in line with the ministry’s higher education transformation agenda, and to gather first- hand information on the status of ongoing construction work for new TVET Centers across the country.
During the tour, the delegation meets with centre leaderships, assess the facilities, teaching and learning resources. It also identifies gains and challenges faced in the centres and helps to provide solutions in preparation for the next academic cycle.
The Honourable Minister and team started with Ndemban USET Campus, then to Kanilai USET Campus, and had a night stop in Mansakonko USET campus.
The delegation will proceed to visit the Sinchu Yerro Wutta Agribusiness Centre in CRR South and Madina Lamin Kanteh Multipurpose center in CRR North to assess the level of civil works.
In addition, the delegation will visit USET Jullangel Campus and engage with the Governor of URR on potential needs of TVET training for the Wulli and Sandu districts of URR.
